A Mother’s Fast Recovery for Her Children Fatma wrote a story full of determination and resilience after seeking refuge in Türkiye. She arrived in Türkiye with her children to escape the devastating effects of the civil war in Syria. She has resisted and continues to resist all the difficulties of rebuilding her life as a single mother. Even though Fatma met the basic needs of her children with the small wage she receives as an agricultural worker, she still has to bear the financial and emotional burden of raising five children alone every day. But Fatma’s path has changed since that first day when she crossed paths with the International Blue Crescent Humanitarian Aid and Development Foundation (IBC). The cash assistance she received within the scope of the Community-Based Local Initiatives Project (CLIP 2) was Fatma’s short-term liberator. Thanks to this support, she covered the vital surgery expenses for her children and partially got rid of her accumulated debts. “This direct financial assistance allowed us to meet our most urgent needs and offered us a sense of security amidst our constant struggles,” Fatma notes. Despite the aid she received, Fatma needs more support today to secure her children’s education and future. A stable future for her family will strengthen Fatma both psychologically and socially. |
