Standing Together Against Peer Bullying

HRDF, in cooperation with the Esenler Multi-Purpose Support Center, organized an awareness-raising session on peer bullying and its impact on children and youth.

As part of refugee protection efforts, the session titled “Peer Bullying: Awareness and Solutions” brought refugee parents together to explore different forms of bullying — including physical and verbal abuse, exclusion, and peer pressure — and to discuss how these behaviors affect children’s emotional and social well-being.

Facilitated by Expert Psychologist Özgür Can Çokar, the session encouraged participants to reflect on root causes, early warning signs, and practical ways to support children both at school and in social environments. The program concluded with a practical action plan, empowering parents to prevent, recognize, and respond to peer bullying more effectively.

The initiative highlighted the importance of early intervention, solidarity, and informed parental engagement in breaking the cycle of peer bullying.
