International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation (IBC) has been offering support to all people living in disadvantaged regions of the world and experiencing problems in access to emergency aid, health, education, and rehabilitation without any discrimination on the basis of nationality, religion, language, political opinion, gender, age, sexual orientation, genetic or physical characteristics for over 20 years. Since its establishment, IBC has engaged in activities in a variety of fields ranging from humanitarian support to livelihood and social cohesion programs with a gender equality perspective.

About the project

The overall objective of the project is to improve protection services and life skills of vulnerable refugee and host communities for their empowerment and access to services.

The project covering Kilis and Konya aims to improve protection services for disadvantaged communities, besides improving language skills of beneficiaries through language courses, and increasing children’s access to education through EBA support activities. It has the objective to increase the well-being and socio-economic status of refugees and host communities in the urban and rural areas of both provinces, to strengthen knowledge and awareness levels, and to ensure their access to services, as well as contributing to social cohesion.

  • Non-formal education (Turkish Language and Sewing-Embroidery Courses in Konya Community Centre via Public Education Centre, EBA Support for Children at Kilis Community Centre and Mobile Caravan)
  • Protection (Case Management, Awareness Raising and Information Sessions in Kilis and Konya, Psychosocial Support, Legal Support, Combating Violence Against Women, Child Protection, Referral, Interpretation and Transportation Support)
  • Awareness raising (Information sharing via Webinars, Radio Shows, Videos and Brochure distribution, Community Centre Magazine, Information and Awareness-Raising Sessions in Kilis and Konya)

About the Project
The project aims to enhance protection services and life skills for vulnerable refugees and members of the host community, empowering them for better access to basic social services. Operating in Kilis and Konya, the project focuses on improving protection services for disadvantaged communities, enhancing language skills through language courses, and facilitating children’s access to education through Educational Informatics Network (EBA) support activities. Its objectives include enhancing the well-being and socio-economic status of beneficiaries, strengthening knowledge and awareness levels, safeguarding access to services, and promoting social cohesion.
Activities
• Protection: Legal counselling, case management, translation, transportation, psychosocial counselling (PSS), gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, child protection.
• Social Cohesion: Strengthening community bonds and fostering cultural understanding among diverse groups.
• Non-Formal Education: Providing language and vocational courses to enhance skills and employability.
• Mentoring for ADA Türkiye: Mentoring activities for the peer support network to facilitate coordination and support mechanisms.
