Leader Woman Association (LWA)

Project completed

LWA is a rights-based humanitarian CSO established in the Kızıltepe District of Mardin in 2010. LWA offers community-based services to diverse vulnerable groups including protection, non-formal education and social cohesion. It provides legal advice to women and girls who experience all forms of gender-based violence, besides psychosocial support to marginalized individuals without access to social protection services.

Following breakout of the Syrian crisis, LWA has started to serve also refugees in its Community Centre in order to reduce protection concerns and strengthen social cohesion particularly after 2015. LWA is currently implementing protection projects for both refugees and local people in Mardin, Diyarbakır and Van Provinces and their districts.
