Project in progress
Strong Parent Strong Child
About the project
The project seeks to contribute to the strengthening of the existing parent-child relationship by providing supportive services and informative trainings on parenting issues to local/refugee parents living in Nevşehir and its districts. The project also seeks to reduce the difficulties experienced by adolescents due to migration. Informative trainings for male and female parents aim to provide improvement in their relationships with children and to raise awareness towards more sensitive parenting. At the same time, it is anticipated that social cohesion and PSS activities will make this improved relationship more sustainable.
In addition to the project’s primary objectives, the Conversation Club activity, one of social cohesion activities, aims to improve the participants’ Turkish speaking skills. As a result, parents’ ability to express themselves in Turkish will improve, making them able to communicate and meet both their own and their children’s needs to the relevant authorities more easily. Thanks to this, parents will feel more confident and their sense of competence will grow.
