20.01.2025 – Hadja Lahbib, the European Union (EU) Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness, and Crisis Management, visited the Social Development and Solidarity Association (SGDD-ASAM) in Ankara, a partner institution of the ADA Türkiye Peer Support Network.
During her visit, Lahbib received detailed information about the services offered at the community centre operating as a part of the CLIP 2 project co-financed by the European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations Unit (ECHO) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Lahbib had the opportunity to meet with beneficiaries under temporary or international protection benefitting from the centre services, listened to their stories and needs.
The visit was joined by the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye in Ankara Ambassador Thomas Hans Ossowski, and GIZ Türkiye Country Director Anja Dahl.
Addressing the press following the visit, Lahbib expressed her gratitude to all civil society organizations and the European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations Unit (ECHO) for their continued support. She stated that the purpose of her visit was to evaluate the needs of the refugees in Türkiye and the means to respond to them effectively.
